Although it is true that beautiful beaches and breathtaking coastal scenery are what Busan is famous for, South Korea’s second-largest city is not short of places for shopping. From the luxury brands at the world’s largest department store to a boutique shop at the Millac the Market, visitors have a variety of options for shopping. Because I can’t cover all of them in one post, in this post, let’s visit the top outlet malls in Busan.

Shinsegae is one of the largest brands in the Korean shopping industry. You may have heard that the largest department store in the world is in Busan and it is Shinsegae Department Store Centum City. The same company has several outlet shopping malls in South Korea, and one of them is in Gijang, Busan.

How to get to Shinsegae Premium Outlets Busan
The outlet mall is located on the outskirts of Busan thus it is not very close to any main tourist spots.
Ride bus No. 37, 182, 188, 302, 1008, or Gijang-gun 8 and get off at the Busan Premium Outlet bus stop. The ride would be all different depending on where you depart. The outlet mall’s website has detailed routes for each direction.

Seasonal Decoration at Shinsegae Outlet Malls
Another fun part at Shinsegae Premium Outlets Busan is feeling the season thanks to its seasonal decorations. The main plaza on the first floor is where the main decoration happens and the best spot for your pictures.

If you see this box at the front of any retail store in South Korea, this means they are asking you to leave your drinks here and not to bring them in.
Lotte Premium Outlets Dong-Busan
The biggest rival of Shinsegae in the Korean shopping business is Lotte. Both of them have department stores in almost every major city in South Korea. They are competing for duty-free customers. And, they are the two biggest names in outlet malls as well.

Stores at Lotte Premium Outlets Dong-Busan
Lotte Premium Outlets Dong-Busan was once the largest outlet in Asia (now Lotte Outlet Mall at Icheon is the largest one), and it certainly has a wide range of stores. Its luxury brands collection is one of the best among Korean outlet shopping malls including Gucci, Fendi, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, and Balenciaga. The layout is a bit hard to explore compared to Shinsegae outlet mall, but visitors can easily find the location map throughout the shopping center.

Other Facilities at Lotte Outlets Dong-Busan
When you are at Lotte Premium Outlets Dong-Busan, shopping isn’t the only activity you can enjoy (although you may not want to spend your time other than shopping.) The top of the shopping center is an observatory in a lighthouse style. The mall has a cinema as well.

What To Eat at Dong-Busan Outlets
Lotte Premium Outlets Dong-Busan has almost 50 restaurants and cafes on site. From Nakgopsae (spicy hotpot with small octopus, beef or pork intestine, and shrimp), which is one of Busan’s signature dishes, to sweet churros, you can find anything that can make your taste buds happy.
You can find most of the restaurants and cafes on the third floor and the rest of them on the first floor. I visited the Japanese Curry restaurant Abiko and had chicken curry rice and curry udon. And for a cup of Java, I stopped by Paul Bassett at the main plaza.

Lottel Mall Maison Dong-Busan
Right across the street from Lotte Premium Outlets Dong-Busan, Maison Dong-Busan welcomes visitors. This shopping center is one of the largest furniture and home decor stores in Busan.
The shopping mall is 13,520 square-meter (145,000 square feet) large and hosts 38 furniture and interior design brands from Korean brands to imported ones. Furniture might not be on the shopping list of international visitors, but travelers can still find small home decor items that they can bring back home. Also, it is a good place to see the trend in Korean home style.

Things To Do near Lotte Outlet Mall Dong-Busan
One of the great merits of Lotte Premium Outlets Dong-Busan is its location. It is a center of Osiria Tourism Complex and many points of interest are easy to access from the shopping mall.
Lotte World Adventure Busan is literally right across the street. If a lively activity is your thing, Skyline Louge Busan is close as well. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is also within a short drive distance.
The Handsome Factory Outlets Busan
Handsome is a Korean fashion company. It carries more than 30 brands under its umbrella. The company manufactures its own brands and imports prestigious global fashion brands. Its own brands include Time, System, Mine, and more. The Handsome’s brands are quite well-known in South Korea.
This Korean fashion company has regular retail stores and outlet stores by brands all over South Korea. However, this Handsome Factory Outlets in Busan has almost all of its brands in one place so it is more convenient to shop around, especially for fans of Handsome’s brands.
By the way, its name Handsome is 한섬 in Korean and pronounced /han-seom/, not exactly the same as handsome.

Ride Subway Line 1 (Orange Line) and get off at Hadan Station (하단/108), Exit 3. Transfer to Bus Gangseo-gu 9 or 9-1. Get off at Bonnoksannokmyeong Elementary School (본녹산녹명초등학교) bus station. Walk to the Handsome Factory Outlets Busan (about 500 meters / 0.3 mile).
