Travel guide to Busan, South Korea

Busan is South Korea’s second-largest city with a population of over 3.3 million. With South Korea’s busiest and the world’s sixth-busiest port, the city is the economic and cultural center of the nation’s southeastern region.

Busan is a popular destination for domestic and international travelers thanks to its warm climate, beautiful environment, and dynamic urban vibe. The people of Busan are famous for their open-hearted attitude to visitors (also known for their loud and strong dialect accents and fast-paced temper.)

Busan is 325 km from Seoul (about 202 miles). Many international visitors arrive at Incheon International Airport and Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is their first destination. Many Koreans consider KTX would be the best way to travel from Seoul to Busan, which takes between 2 hours 40 minutes and 3 hours (Relax, nothing like “Train to Busan” happens). Visitors can fly and it would take about 1 hour. Finally, driving would take 5 hours, more or less, depending on traffic conditions.

Weather in Busan

Busan is famous for its mild weather. The city gets rarely extremely hot or cold although it can be quite humid during summertime. Spring and autumn are generally comfortable for visitors. Summer is hot and humid but Busan is one of the most visited destinations in South Korea thanks to the city’s breathtaking seven beaches. The city attracts visitors in winter, too, because it is milder than other regions in Korea. Between June and October, typhoons occasionally land in the area and sometimes the damages are severe because of its coastal location.
