Where is Busan in South Korea? Busan is located at the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula. The city has a long shape lying from north to south. It has beautiful beaches along its east and south sides and Nakdonggang river, the longest river in South Korea, follows on the west side of the city. The size of Busan is 770 km2 (about 297 mi2) and it is similar to New York City (not the metropolitan area) and Singapore.



How far is Busan from Seoul?
Busan is 325 km from Seoul (about 202 miles). Many international visitors arrive at Incheon International Airport and Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is their first destination. Many Koreans consider KTX would be the best way to travel from Seoul to Busan, which takes between 2 hours 40 minutes and 3 hours (Relax, nothing like “Train to Busan” happens). Visitors can fly and it would take about 1 hour. Finally, driving would take 5 hours, more or less, depending on traffic conditions.
Weather in Busan
Busan is famous for its mild weather. The city gets rarely extremely hot or cold although it can be quite humid during summertime. Spring and autumn are generally comfortable for visitors. Summer is hot and humid but Busan is one of the most visited destinations in South Korea thanks to the city’s breathtaking seven beaches. The city attracts visitors in winter, too, because it is milder than other regions in Korea. Between June and October, typhoons occasionally land in the area and sometimes the damages are severe because of its coastal location.
