I usually don’t recommend certain genres like historical dramas (사극), legal thrillers, or medical shows, for Korean learners. That’s because they often include specialized vocabulary, complex sentence structures, or outdated/honorific speech that can be overwhelming for beginners.

However, if you’re already comfortable with everyday Korean or looking to challenge yourself, these dramas are fantastic for leveling up.

For Historical Drama: 철인왕후 (Mr. Queen)

A modern man’s soul ends up in a Joseon Dynasty queen’s body. It’s Freaky Friday meets palace politics.
